On the first day of Christmas, my co-op gave to me…
Ok, we aren’t great songwriters. We had better stick to generating clean, green energy for Ontario, and profits for our members. As we reflect on 2016 we want to share some of our highlights. Thank you for being a part of our success and supporting community minded professional investment!
12 Months of Blog Posts
Part of our mission is providing stakeholder education about renewable and distributed energy generation. This year we increased communication with newsletters, blogs, and social media to keep members and investors up to date on CED Co-op news, and changes in the renewable energy industry. Did you like them? Let us know!
11 Board Members
Thank you to our Board of Directors. These individuals are integral to our success. They work through the strategy, due diligence, and decision making that keeps our co-op moving full steam ahead.
10-dollar membership shares
Our membership keeps on growing! For just $10 anyone can become a member in CED Co-op and support renewable energy generation in Ontario. It’s a great way to be part of the solution to climate change and join a growing community dedicated to a greener future.
9 Tours at Green Energy Doors Open
In September, we joined organizations across the province celebrating the transition to renewable energy through Green Energy Doors Open (GEDO). A public event, GEDO invited visits to businesses focused on renewable energy and efficiency. We showed off the project at MCC Ontario and led roof-top tours of this unique system.
8 packages of sausages barbequed at our AGM
On May 17th we held our third Annual General Meeting at First Mennonite Church. It was great to see many members join us for the BBQ, and some new faces interested in learning about renewable energy generation. Thank you to all those who attended.
7 Co-operative Values
As a co-operative, CED Co-op is guided by the 7 Co-operative Principles. Democratic, open membership, co-operation, and a concern for community is part of what makes us unique among opportunities to invest in renewable energy.
6 Guelph Tool and Die Projects
This summer we started work on 250 kW systems on the roofs of Guelph Tool and Die buildings. Solar systems 1-4 are finished, with 2 to go!
5 years of Bond Series N1-5
Bond Series N1-5 launched in the spring as a way for existing investors to add $1,000 to their investment, or new members to get a taste of investing in CED Co-op. We saw lots of excitement, and can’t wait for our next true offering statement.
4 Reasons to Invest
CED Co-op investors love the return on investment our bonds offer, but they also see the social benefits, environmental benefits, and opportunity to guide the organization as reasons why CED Co-op is the right way to invest their funds. It isn’t too late to add to your portfolio!
3 Fields of Trackers
Our biggest projects to date, Solvation-V, Solvation-V-F, and Solvation-F in Blind River, Ontario were finished this year. Together they have already generated over 10,000 kWh of energy! View photos of these impressive arrays, and take a fly through – click here.
2 Project Openings
This year we celebrated with Salus Marine Wear and MCC Ontario as they opened their new solar systems with fanfare from the local press and politicians. Thanks to those that came out to join us and view these unique systems. We are looking forward to more ribbon cuttings next year!
1 Community Energy Development Co-operative!
