The Ford Government’s efforts to repeal the Green Energy and Green Economy Act is a disappointing, but not unforeseen, action from a government that has pledged to eliminate spending on renewable energy. This legislation once again proves that the government does not support the jobs, investment, and positive environmental impact created by the clean economy.  The clean economy is the economy of the future, and Ontario has invested in order to create a competitive advantage that has placed us ahead of many of our peers.  It is unfortunate that we appear willing to give up our place as leaders to try to fall in with the laggards.

As always, we continue to stay abreast of news from the provincial government, and engaged with industry associations such as the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA). We will keep our members informed of any significant developments in the renewable energy industry, and their impact on CED Co-op.

As advocates for solar power in Ontario, you can continue to share your support, help inform your community, and speak with your elected officials about the benefits of renewable energy.
