Shares in CED Co-op paying a quarterly dividend
Class B Preference Shares provide dividends to shareholders. Though the payment of dividends is not guaranteed, it is the intention of the Board of Directors to pay a consistent 7%.
The funds raised through Class B Preference shares will largely be used to acquire operating FIT Contracts. These projects are 5 years into their contracts, so the estimated timeline to repurchase the shares will be 15 years. Each year during the FIT Contracts CED Co-op intends to repurchase some of the outstanding Class B Preference Shares, so in some ways they will perform similarly to an amortizing loan.
Class B Preference Shares are best suited for investors looking for annual cash flow from a long term investment, looking to make the investment outside of a Registered Plan, and willing to invest in a Security that does not have a fixed return, but has the potential to earn a higher rate of return than other Securities.
