What is Green Energy Doors Open?
Green Energy Doors Open is an Ontario Sustainable Energy Association initiative that brings attention to individual, community, and commercial sustainability projects. By promoting innovations and advancements in green energy, it demonstrates that we are on the path to clean, sustainable energy.
For 2016 Green Energy Doors Open participants are hosting events on September 9th, 10th, and 11th. All are free to attend, and will provide visitors with a unique perspective on sustainability at home, in industry, through energy, and more.
CED Co-op Event – MCC Solar System Opening
CED Co-op will be hosting an event this year at our new solar system built in partnership with Mennonite Central Committee Ontario. With over 700 solar panels installed on a raised structure above the MCCO office at 50 Kent in Kitchener, this unique 200kW system catches the eye as you arrive. The coolest part? Guests at Green Energy Doors Open will be able to join us on the roof and walk underneath the solar panels, getting a unique look at this renewable energy installation. Inside we will have snacks, as well as information about the other unique green design of the building.
Stay tuned for more details about our guests, as well as the official ribbon cutting and opening of the system.
This fall, take your family on a weekend tour of the Green Energy Doors Open events in your area and learn more about what we are already doing to benefit our planet.
